One of the most powerful tools available to citizens is the Right to Information (RTI) Act, which empowers individuals to seek and obtain valuable insights from government bodies. Recently, renowned freelance journalist and RTI activist Anil Galgali delivered an enlightening webinar organised by the Moneylife Foundation, shedding light on the immense potential of RTI for social and public good.

Anil Galgali, an influential figure in the field of journalism and activism, has long been a champion of transparency and accountability. He highlighted various instances where the RTI Act has played a pivotal role in exposing corruption, revealing inefficiencies, and demanding justice. From unearthing financial irregularities in public projects to uncovering discrepancies in the allocation of resources, he showcased how RTI has become a catalyst for positive change.

He also stressed the importance of citizen participation in utilising the RTI Act effectively. He shared valuable insights into drafting well-crafted RTI applications, identifying the right public authorities to approach, and following up diligently on responses. Through his experiences, Galgali encouraged attendees to embrace the power of information and proactively engage with the system to bring about meaningful transformations.

Throughout the webinar, he highlighted the transformative impact of RTI activism. By leveraging the RTI Act, individuals and organisations can demand accountability, initiate public debate and drive policy reforms.
