Moneylife Foundation in association with Deccan Education Society s Shri Navalmal Firodia Law College, Pune conducted a session on Right to Information on occasion of World Human Rights Day. The speakers included Retired Central Information Commissioner Shailesh Gandhi, Moneylife Foundation s Trustee Dr. Anupam Saraph and Author and Consulting Editor Moneylife Ms. Vinita Deshmukh. The session started by Mr. Gandhi speaking about the RTI act and giving the students an overall idea of what the act is. This was followed by Dr. Saraph s session who spoke specifically about Section 4 of the RTI act which talks about Suo Moto declaration of Information. Post that, Ms. Vinita Deshmukh shared real life incidents where RTI had been used effectively to get justice for the aggrieved or to improve the governance system.
